I LOVE the concept of this game. Unlike most game developers, the Planeshift team intends on keeping this game free. I’ve been watching this game develop alongside Runescape for a long time and it has come a long way. The game is nowhere near complete, but the game creators have all the intention to make […]

I’ve had some really interesting discussions recently with a friend from SWG regarding MMORPG design. To be fair, we’ve had these discussions for a long time, but the recent conversations have really hit some hot buttons for me.
What is unique about SWG that causes so much angst among RPers? This is a MMORPG where roleplayers […]

From JaconKin posted on vnboards.ign.com:
Here are a couple of the more subtle, but much appreciated changes in WOTLK.
No More Ghost Ships: Aye that is right ships now have Crews on them walking about as well as a captain. Also each ship is now named.
No More Dismount: You are no longer dismounted when getting […]

So today was the first patch for EA Mythic’s Warhammer Online, patch 1.01. Today’s patch was all about bug fixes, from tab-targetting annoyances to UI tweaks to make the experience a little smoother.
Now, I’d say that unlike the hordes and masses of people that might think that a bugfix patch is […]

The Wrath of the Lich King is almost upon us, people! In preparation for this, Blizzard has wrapped up the expansion’s beta test.
Patch 3.0.3 has also been launched, with changes to several classes. Hopefully this means a smooth launch for the World of Warcraft expansion next week.
Here are the patch notes:
General
Removed “A Mask for […]

A relatively short session in World of Warcraft last night saw my warrior, Sapphire, reach 57th level, putting me just one more level away from having another character running around the Outlands. And it’s not just having the Dark Portal open for a character that makes 58th level more of a milestone than 60th […]

Introduced recently to yet another addictive text-based browser MMORPG called 古惑仔 (古惑仔 or kuwakchai is the Cantonese equivalent of samseng [三牲仔], gangster or mafia). I find it even more addictive than Tribal Wars and it reminds me of MUD (Multi-User Dungeon).
The game is based in the towns of Malaysia so you will see many Bahasa […]

It might not be the prettiest game, but it certainly was a fun one. Shadowbane launches on March 25, 2008, launched on March 25, 2003, launched, and is being re-launched on March 25, both 2003 and 2008. That’s right. We are rapidly approaching the 5 year anniversary for a classic MMORPG. Well it might not […]

I’ve been playing a lot of WoW lately, and I noticed some interesting statistics, courtesy of Xfire.
First off, World of Warcraft has been the #1 game played by Xfire users for 1002 days. (I’m sure today will make 1003.)
It appears that an average of 88,926 users have been playing an average of 19,188,204 minutes per […]
